Other notification toggles: Alerts and Summaries

Beside the Item Updates card, Settings → Workspace → Notifications carries a second group: Alerts & Summaries — "Choose the reminders and recaps you want from Scout." These are not about a single piece of work you hold; they are the standing alerts and recaps about your workspace.

The Alerts and Summaries card listing Deadline risk, Identity review, Weekly Found summary and Connection problems with In App, Email and Slack columns.

The four rows

Notification What it is for Where it is delivered Default
Deadline risk
"When an approaching date needs your attention"
A heads-up before a date becomes a problem Marked Not available yet — no channel delivers it today The row is on, but nothing is sent
Identity review
"Potential matches that need a decision"
Scout has found records that may be the same customer or contact and needs a person to decide In App — the alerts bell in the header On, In App ticked
Weekly Found summary
"A Monday recap of what Scout recovered"
A weekly look at the value ledger Marked Not available yet — no channel delivers it today Off
Connection problems
"When a source needs attention"
A connected mailbox, accounting system or supplier feed has stopped answering, or its authorization expired In App — the alerts bell in the header On, In App ticked

A row labelled Not available yet is exactly that: the setting is there, your choice is remembered, and nothing is sent on that row today. Scout would rather keep an honest empty row than quietly drop the preference.

Turning them on and off

  1. Open Settings → Workspace → Notifications.
  2. Use the switch in the Alerts & Summaries header to silence the whole group, or the switch on a row to silence just that one.
  3. Tick or untick the channel columns — In App, Email, Slack — for the channels a row supports. A box that is not available for a row cannot be ticked.
  4. Choose Save changes at the bottom of the card. This button saves only this group; the Item Updates and Morning Brief cards have their own.

Who these are for

Connection problems and the credential and supplier alerts that travel with them are workspace administration, so only people who can see Connections — Owners and Admins — get them. They will not reach a Member or a Viewer, and unticking In App as an Owner removes them from your own bell without changing anyone else's.

Identity review reaches anyone who is allowed to decide a match. Owners and Admins can decide any match; Members can decide matches on their own or their teams' work; Viewers cannot decide, so there is nothing to alert them about.

These preferences are personal. Nobody sets them for you, and an administrator cannot see or change yours.

Good to know

  • In App means the alerts bell in the header, not a browser pop-up. Scout does not ask for permission to push notifications to your desktop.
  • Client work never arrives through this group. The bell is for connections and account housekeeping; the work lives in your Inbox.
  • Unticking In App for a row hides its alerts from the bell entirely — the counter goes with them, so nothing quietly accumulates out of sight.
  • The weekly count of items that lapsed sits on the Lapsed shelf and is not one of these toggles.
