My Inbox says "Your desk is clear." Is something broken?
Almost certainly not. A brand-new workspace is supposed to look brand new: Scout shows honest zeros rather than sample data, so you can always trust what is on the screen. You will see the same honesty elsewhere — the Map says it draws itself, and Found says nothing has been found yet.
What has to be true before points appear
- At least one source is connected. Open Connections. If the count at the top reads zero connected, that is your answer. See Your first week with Scout.
- Scout has read it successfully at least once. Each card shows when it last read. A card that has never synced, or shows a warning, has nothing to work from.
- Scout has had time. After a mailbox is connected, Scout reads roughly a year of history in the background before it starts drawing conclusions. Expect the first points within hours, not seconds.
- A Watch can actually answer its question. Watches that read supplier order feeds stay quiet until a supplier is connected. That is deliberate: Scout would rather say nothing than guess.
If you have been connected for days
- Check the scope. If you are on Mine, the work may be sitting in a team queue you are not in. Owners and Admins can switch to All.
- Check the filter chips. If Notices is selected you will not see customer work.
- Check whether you hid items for yourself, and look in Settled — Scout may have closed them on evidence already.
- Read your coverage figure in the morning brief. Low coverage means Scout could not read something it was granted.
If all of that looks right and the Inbox is still empty, contact support.
