Found: the value ledger

Found is the honest answer to "is this thing working?" It is a ledger of what Scout turned up, what happened next, and the record that proves it. Open it from Found in the header.

The rule that governs the whole page is in its first line: Every point Scout raises gets an outcome. Only the ones with a confirmed result are counted here — each line traces back to its evidence. A point is one item Scout raised with the proof behind it. If there is no confirmed result and no record, it is not on this page.

Choosing the period

Four buttons switch the window: 30 days, 60 days, 6 mo and 12 mo. The heading names the one you are in, and a line under the total describes it in words — The last thirty days, Two months of outcomes, A year of Scout reading your inbox, deals and books.

Longer windows itemize the recent part and roll up the rest, with a line saying so: Outcomes before March aren't itemized here — they roll up in the totals above.

The three kinds of value

The period's total sits at the top, and beneath it the three kinds it is made of:

Collected — money your business received or recovered after Scout surfaced something that needed follow-up.
Margin won — profit tied to work you won or kept after acting on something Scout found.
Cost avoided — money you did not have to spend because Scout helped catch a duplicate, an error, or a preventable charge.

How are these calculated? opens those three definitions in the app itself, so nobody has to take the number on trust. Each Watch books into exactly one of the three and never into two; which one is shown in the Books as column in Settings → Watches.

The receipts

Under The receipts — what was caught, what happened next, and the record that proves it, each outcome gets one dated line: what Scout raised, what happened, the source label of the proof (GMAIL, QBO and so on) with the record and its timestamp, and the amount with the kind it booked under. For example:

A receipt cannot be edited. It is the reason the total on this page is a claim you can check rather than a figure Scout asserts.

Point precision and Acted on

Two figures sit beside the money.

Point precision counts how the points were judged — for example 14/16 useful · 1 not useful · 1 wrong. That fraction comes from your team's own verdicts, not from Scout marking its own homework.

Acted on counts how many of the useful points actually led to somebody doing something — 11/14 of useful points led to action. It is the more uncomfortable number of the two, and the more useful one: a point that was right and ignored is still a point that did not help.

The precision overlay

Selecting See every point opens Point precision for the period: a heading (14 of 16 points useful), four filter chips — All, Useful, Not useful and Wrong, each with its count — and every point in the period as a row: the date, the client, the verdict, what the point said, and what happened to it ("closed itself on evidence", "$940 collected in 2 days", "point retired for the account", "muted for the account").

Seasonal patterns

Seasonal patterns lists the rhythms Scout has learned from your order history, one line per account — Event banners every October — 4 years running. Budget opens in September. · Staff kits every January, bandanas every June. Two peaks, not one. · Leash reorder on a ~9 month cadence — next window opens September.

These are the same patterns behind the reorder points in your Inbox — see Reorder windows, seasonal patterns and quiet accounts. Until Scout has seen enough recurring activity the section says so: Patterns show up here once Scout has seen recurring activity across ingested history — enough to identify a reliable seasonal cadence.

What didn't count

What didn't count lists the points that were excluded from the totals and why, tagged with the reason:

WRONG — somebody marked the point wrong, and Scout took the correction. Golden Gait leash rhythm — you told Scout they moved to a house brand. That point is retired for the account.
MUTED — an administrator muted the point for everyone. Meadow Vet portal-login notice — not worth your attention. Scout still watches it, it just stopped raising it.

With nothing excluded the section reads Misses show up here once points close as wrong or muted — nothing has been excluded in this range yet. Either way, the closing line applies: Every point — counted or not — stays in Settled with how it closed.

Good to know

A brand-new workspace shows Nothing found yet. This is the running total of what Scout turns up. with a Connect a source button. Honest zeros, not a sample.
Wherever Scout reports value per Watch or per category — for instance the subtotals in the Watch effectiveness report — the three kinds are shown as three separate figures rather than added together, because a dollar collected, a dollar avoided and a dollar of margin are not the same dollar.
Some real catches never carry an amount: a duplicate invoice stopped, a customer told before they asked. Those close under their Watch's kind without a number, and they are still wins.
Found shows only what you are allowed to see. Two people in one workspace can see different totals, and neither is wrong.
